~ First Influence ~

My first reason that I believe that Clara Barton was the most influential person in America is because she started the United States branch of the Red Cross. The American Red Cross has saved millions of lives since she founded it. The Red Cross set the standard for the treatment of people in crisis and injured and sick soldiers. She prevailed through many hard times in her own life and worked tirelessly to form it. Clara helped others whenever she could and risked her own life rescuing dying soldiers from the battlefield. That kind of selflessness, persistence and courage should be remembered for generations.
